I am a college student of myopia. In my class, more than eighty percent of classmates wear prescription eyeglasses. It is a common situation that students around me renew glasses according to the change of eyesight every several months. I had make jokes with my friends that the change of glasses is as frequent as that of our clothes. This phenomenon is worse as we grow up, and changes happen on bodies are much fewer.
When I studied in primary school, the only glasses-girl was born with bad eyesight. Out of curiosity, I tried her glasses and felt the world around me was rolling up and down. Even I found it hard to see clearly who was walking towards me from far away; I just thought that my eyesight was not as excellent as my classmates’.
Every time I watch TV closely or lie on bed, my mom would warn me of my eyesight. What’s worse, I am a boy of energy and like watching TV as much as a TV sitter. The TV was kept on for as long as I stay at home, of course except for sleeping time. In my mind, lone time and too close distance in front of television is the main cause of my eyesight deteriorating. In my childhood, many wonderful cartons, movies and other programs were played in front of me with mother’s jaw.
Since I entered junior high school at fourteen, I had to prepare a pair of glasses for class. On one hand, my eyesight fell down as sharply as the study taste grows. On the other hand, my height improved so much that I had to sit at the back of the classroom. Far from the blackboard, I found it hard to see the blackboard clearly. I also got an accommodation in school. In the three years, my body was in quickly growth and eyesight fell down sharply. At that time everyone tried his best to study as long as possible. With the pay of eyesight, I got a good performance as exchange. Through the three years, the amounts of students wearing glasses amounted from a quarter to more than a half in my class.
As a consequence of poor eyesight, eyeglasses have been necessary equipment for me in daily life since I got in senior high school. I feel shameful to make a confession that my eyesight fell down for my internet addiction.
Looking back my experience, TV, book, computer and varied things do unavoidable harm to my eyesight. I hope that teenagers can avoid as much hurt as possible at the fragile ages. Take care of your eyes.
